Watch inventory API: connect your tools to ChronoDesk

Building your own watch dealer tools? What you can connect to ChronoDesk today (live export URLs, feeds, sync bridge) and where the public API stands.

Plenty of dealers build their own tools: a price sheet for regular buyers, a feed into a partner's site, a dashboard in Google Sheets, a little script that posts new arrivals somewhere. You should not have to give that up to use ChronoDesk. You should be able to point it at ChronoDesk.

Here is what connects today, what is in beta, and what is not built yet. Plainly.

What you can connect today

Custom exports with a live URL. Build an export from your stock: pick the fields, filter by status, brand, condition, price range, and whether a photo or year is required. Choose CSV, JSON or XML (Excel is in beta and arrives as CSV). Download it once, or switch on a live URL that your system or a partner fetches on a schedule. Each export has its own token. Rotate it and the old URL stops working at once, switch it off and it stops answering.

The fields an export can carry:

  • Identity: article ID, brand, model, reference, variant, year
  • Physical: condition, dial colour, dial markers, scope of delivery
  • Commercial: status, location, B2B price, B2C price, B2B and B2C scope, B2C title and description
  • Media: thumbnail

What an export never carries is just as deliberate: no serial numbers, no purchase price, no buying source, no extra costs, no customer or sale data. Those stay inside ChronoDesk, whatever the export asks for. You can hand a live URL to a partner without handing over your margins.

Chrono24 feed. Chrono24 pulls a live XML feed of the watches you choose, with your field mapping. You preview the exact XML before they fetch it. See Chrono24 fees for dealers for the commercial side.

Shopify and a custom sync bridge. We connect your Shopify shop, and through a custom sync bridge your own systems, so listings come from the same record as everything else. This is set up with you, not self-serve. eBay and WooCommerce are coming.

DATEV export. Every month, for your tax advisor, from the same invoices.

What is in beta

Webhooks for sales events. A few dealers are testing webhooks that fire when a watch sells. It is a private beta, not a public feature. If you have a concrete use for it, tell us.

What is not available yet

A public API. It is on the roadmap. There is no public read or write API today, and we will not pretend otherwise. The plan is to build it on the same record the exports already use: reference, set, condition, prices, status.

How to build now so you are ready later

  1. Read from a live export, not from a copy. Point your tool at a JSON export URL instead of a spreadsheet someone updates by hand. When the API arrives, you swap the source, not the tool.
  2. Key everything on article ID and reference. Not on titles, not on row numbers. Our note on watch inventory data models explains why.
  3. Treat statuses as data. Statuses belong to each dealer ("Reserved", "In service", "Consignment"). Map them, do not hardcode them.
  4. Poll politely. Live URLs are built for scheduled pulls a few times an hour, not for a request every few seconds.

An export row looks roughly like this. It is an example of the shape, not a contract:

{
  "articleId": "W-1042",
  "brand": "Rolex",
  "model": "GMT-Master II",
  "reference": "126710BLRO",
  "year": 2021,
  "condition": "Very good",
  "scopeOfDelivery": "Full set",
  "status": "In stock",
  "b2cPrice": 18900
}

FAQ

Does ChronoDesk have an API?

Not a public one yet. It is on the roadmap. Today you connect through live export URLs (CSV, JSON, XML), the Chrono24 feed, Shopify and a custom sync bridge. Sales-event webhooks are in private beta.

Can I get my data out of ChronoDesk?

Yes. Stock goes out through custom exports in CSV, JSON or XML, and invoices go to your tax advisor through the monthly DATEV export.

Building something on top of your stock? ChronoDesk is free for 60 days. See the plans, or write to us about the beta.
