Chrono24 alternatives: where dealers also sell

The Chrono24 alternatives dealers actually use: your own shop, Shopify, a dealer marketplace, WhatsApp groups and direct clients, from one stock.

Chrono24 is where most buyers search, and most dealers will keep listing there. The question is not whether to leave it. It is how much of your turnover should depend on one platform's fees, rules and search ranking. Here are the channels dealers run next to it, and what each one is good for.

Your own shop

A shop under your own name is the only channel where the buyer remembers you, not the platform. It is also the slowest to build: it needs traffic, and traffic needs time and search visibility.

What makes it work for watches is a page per piece with the reference, photos and price, so search engines can find "126500LN" on your site and not only on a marketplace.

ChronoDesk builds that storefront from the stock you already keep. You choose which pieces go public, each gets its own page under your business name, and enquiries land in your inbox. A watch you are holding for a client stays off it.

Shopify

If you already run a Shopify shop, it can carry your watches next to straps or accessories. The risk is double-selling: the same watch on Shopify and Chrono24, sold on one, still live on the other. We cover the setup in selling watches on Shopify. In ChronoDesk the Shopify connection is set up for you and runs from the same record as your Chrono24 listings.

Dealer to dealer

Much of the volume in pre-owned watches moves between dealers, at trade prices, without a retail buyer involved. It is fast, the margins are thinner, and trust is everything.

The ChronoDesk marketplace is a B2B floor where every dealer was checked by a person before trading. You list from your stock, and the listing shows only public fields: reference, photos, condition, year and asking price. Your cost never reaches another dealer. Want-to-buys are matched against new listings, and ChronoDesk takes no commission on a trade.

WhatsApp groups

Dealer groups are where a lot of pieces change hands first. They are quick and free, and messy: offers scroll past, prices get lost, nobody keeps a record. See working WhatsApp dealer groups for how dealers keep up. ChronoDesk reads the offers in the groups you connect into reference, set, condition and price.

Direct clients

The cheapest sale is to a client who already told you what they want. It needs a list of who is looking for what, and the discipline to check it when a piece comes in. In ChronoDesk each client keeps their purchases, invoices and wishes, so when a Pepsi GMT arrives you see who asked for one before it goes anywhere public. That is the customers view.

Auctions and eBay

Auctions suit rare and vintage pieces with a story. eBay reaches a broad audience. Both have their own fees and their own buyers; our comparison of Chrono24, eBay and Catawiki goes through them. eBay sync in ChronoDesk is coming.

The rule that makes several channels work

One stock. Every channel reads from the same watch record, with its own price if you want, and a sold watch disappears from all of them. Without that, each new channel adds a new way to sell a watch twice. Compare what each channel earns after its cost in Chrono24 fees for dealers.
