Chat and connectivity

You are not leaving WhatsApp. Neither are we.

The trade runs in group chats, and it is not moving into anyone's software. So ChronoDesk works inside the groups instead. What arrives there becomes stock, counterparties and matches in your account, and the answer goes back into the same thread.

It reads and it writes. Only the groups you connect are read, and outbound runs on broadcast rules you set: which pieces, which groups, how often.
01 · Group traffic

Nine messages. Three of them are offers.

A group does not arrive sorted. Sales, questions, a thumbs up and good morning, in one column. ChronoDesk takes the offers out and leaves the rest where it is. Press the other tab and you can check what it left, and why.

Inferred fields are marked as inferred. A model read from a reference and a year read from 91 are guesses, and you should be told which figures are guesses before you act on them.

02 · Counterparty identity

The same dealer, writing from two numbers.

Two of the offers you just read came from one man. He posts from a German number in one group and a Swiss number in another, under two names. ChronoDesk proposes the merge and shows its evidence. You decide, and nothing is joined behind your back.

Six trades filed under one number, three under the other. Two part-histories, and neither of them is the man you are actually dealing with.

Kept apart, which is where it stays until you say otherwise.
Why it thinks this is one person
Both numbers posted the same Day-Date, same serial, eleven minutes apart.
Two purchase documents in your account carry one company name and one VAT number.
Both sign off as Bauer.
A merge changes whose history you are looking at when you price a deal, so it is not the sort of thing software should do quietly and tell you afterwards.
03 · Want-to-buys

You stop re-reading forty groups.

Post what you are looking for once, with a ceiling. Incoming group traffic is checked against it while you are doing something else, and the near misses are checked too, so you can see what was rejected and disagree with it.

The matching runs against the want-to-buys you posted, and against nothing else. It does not read what other dealers are searching for, and no dealer is shown what you are searching for unless you post it in a group yourself.
04 · One inbox

Everything arrives in one list.

A dealer in a group, a buyer on your shop page and an offer on a marketplace listing all want the same thing, which is to do business with you. They land in one place, in the order they arrived, against the watch they are about.

Can I see the Yacht-Master 126621 in person this week?

Answer from here and the reply goes back into the same WhatsApp thread it came from. The watch it is about is already attached, so nobody has to go and look up which 16610 you were talking about.

05 · Privacy

What is read, and what leaves your account.

This is the first question every dealer asks, so here is the plain answer before you have to ask it.

A watch card you send into a thread

Not on that card
  • What you paid for it
  • The lowest price you would take
  • Your margin
  • Your notes on the piece
  • The rest of your stock
The groups you connect
You add them one at a time and you can remove any of them at any point. A group you have not connected is not read.
Nothing else on your phone
Private threads, family groups, your accountant, the school parents group. None of it is connected and none of it is read.
Nothing is written for you
Outbound is real and it is yours to configure. Broadcast rules decide which pieces go to which groups and when, and you set them. Nothing is invented: what goes out is stock you already hold, in the wording you chose.
Your buying prices, your margins and your notes stay inside your account. No other dealer on ChronoDesk is shown them, on a card, in a chat, or anywhere else.

The market never moved into your software. Your software moved into the market.
